The story is about the struggles of a bisexual man who in the 1950s/60s for various reasons not dared to come out of the closet. At the time, it was still a difficult thing, actually a social taboo. He clogged so his feelings and lives like a ‘normal’ person, goes into service, is studying and goes to work in sales, one more reason not to come out of the closet. With the necessary anecdotes is described this ordinary life but occasionally blurts that other feeling yet again up and then tucked away. Eventually, he breaks with that ‘normal’ life, the wealthy and save existence within the family and still later in life comes out of the closet. He visited India as a volunteer and here he meets an Indian man providing instant a warm click. They pull together, but then he recognized barriers against to jointly to come out of the closet and to live together and to live in India. The book shows that Indian society is very complicated and as far as homosexuality many years behind the Netherlands. Now come the same problems and considerations ruling in the Netherlands in the fifties/sixties above. The book is an interesting insight into Indian society and how homosexuality is camouflaged, for the word is already not even pronounced.
